About Products

As mentioned, all of the City Girl Naturals products are made with pure simple ingredients in simple formulations, which is what makes them so good. With the exception of the soaps which must be made ahead of time in order to allow time for curing, products are made to order to ensure a fresh, effective product at the height of it's beneficial life.

In addition to ingredients, formulations play a significant role in our products. Different products suit different needs and skin types and must be taken into consideration when ordering for best experience. CGN products can basically be put into one of four categories: Basic/Hydrating, Moisturizing, Nourishing or Therapeutic.

Anything listed as basic, essential or hydrating will be in the first category. These products can be used on most skin types and particularly for normal to oily skin. Care must be taken when using hyrating products on oily skin though, which tends to need more cleaning than hydrating.

Mositurizing products are suitable for normal to dry skin. These products tend to contain more humectant properties to aid the skin in attracting and retaining moisture. Ultra rich products and body cremes will be in this category.

Nourishing products are more suited for dry and mature skin. Nourishing products tend to be a bit heavier, so really shouldn't be used by people with oily or problem skin such as acne. Products in this category include body balms and skin oils.

Therapeutic products are specialty products for particular needs. They will contain specific ingredients to meet a specific need and will be noted as such.
